Plant Manager / VP of Production – Manufacturing Company
Job Description:
One of our clients, a rapidly growing light (i.e., non-heavy) manufacturing company $15 million in sales in the San Francisco Bay Area in the East Bay, is looking for a Plant Manager / VP of Production.
The Plant Manager is responsible for all daily manufacturing operations including production, planning, quality, safety, maintenance, planning and shipping. The Plant Manager contributes to achieving the plant's sales objectives through coordinating workflow and product quality. Budgetary responsibility includes oversight of all of the facility’s processes and activities in order to achieve KPI’s across multiple categories including volume, waste, quality, costs, efficiencies, safety, delivery, etc.
This is an exciting, important leadership position with tremendous career upside potential. This person will be responsible for creating a shared vision, directing various managers, and implementing process improvement projects to ensure a high level of efficient productivity and customer satisfaction. Strong analytical skills as well as interpersonal and written communication skills are required.
A very attractive compensation package (base salary + bonus) is available.
Responsibilities:
Leadership: Develop the manufacturing plan and establish processes for achieving the highest quality standard; Ensure products are delivered on time while meeting profit targets
Production Planning and Control: Scheduling, tracking, and reporting systems with daily, weekly, and monthly reports; Champion continuous process improvement
Inventory Management: Raw Materials, WIP, and Finished Goods systems and KPIs
Personnel Management: Hire, train, develop, and evaluate key manufacturing team staff; Plan staffing to achieve optimum levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet budgetary goals, ongoing employee training and development; Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations
Facility and Machinery Management: Oversee all maintenance programs; Establish training and procedures for all machines and rolling stock; Implement daily and weekly processes for facility maintenance (interior and exterior)
Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions where appropriate; Uses reason and analysis even when dealing with emotional topics
Skills and Abilities

Proven track record of success improving cost management, inventory management, supply chain management, quality, and delivery

Excellent leadership and team building skills (including hands-on involvement)

Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills: English and Spanish fluency ideal

5+ years of Plant Manager experience overseeing 50 – 100 employees

Bachelors degree (or equivalent) preferred
